That Day

Affirmed my resolve as an American Son
A day of horror, of disbelief
A Nation, A people
One, in grief
Together we watched, as emotions surged
Amidst hopelessness, Heroes emerged
A Heritage of Patriots, American unity
For USA, was spelled that day, NYC
Ash and dust turned day to night
Yet Lady Liberty's Torch burned bright
Her sons and daughters would not turn away
The world bore witness to The American Way
Always keep our Flag unfurled
Lest there be doubt, to the eyes of the world
The United States shall always be one.
